Rachel Zimmerman, LCPC

Thank you for visiting my practice’s webpage. I see therapy as a guided journey. I may have
expertise in different areas of psychology and human nature, but each of my clients are an
expert on themselves and their own lives. The work I do with people is collaborative and works on each persons beliefs about themselves, others, and the world around them. Each person is unique, my approach is tailored to meet you where you are. It takes a brave person to want to come to therapy and risk the vulnerability of change in their lives.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. What growth and healing can look like is different for each person. I have worked with a variety of different life issues, interpersonal conflicts, and mental health struggles including:

-
Stage of Life Dilemmas
-
Anxiety
-
Depression
-
Healing from Childhood Wounds
-
Processing Traumatic Life Events
-
Low Self Confidence/Body Image
-
Acceptance of Painful Life Circumstances
-
Parenting Adult Children in Difficult Life Circumstances
The therapeutic relationship is the most important tool we have to bring change into our lives. I use the relationship as a vehicle with which to support, validate, learn, curiously challenge, and more. I have been trained in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing as some of the ways to help my clients towards healing.
